Mazda is set to release the 2017 Mazda BT-50 to take over from the 2016 version with improved features and performance. This will involve concerns that were raised regarding the 2016 version. Mazda has faced stiff competition in this segment of the market with the likes of Toyota, Ford, Isuzu and Volkswagen making it difficult for them to dominate the market. However, with the release of the 2017 version of the Mazda BT-50 it seems they will be posing a huge threat in the market.

The exterior and interior will feature some changes to improve the quality of the pick-up. The exterior of the BT-50 has been refined to give it a more premium and attractive look. The front bumper is set to be redesigned with addition of fog lights that greatly assist during night driving. The headlights will also be increased in size and feature LED bulbs that are different from its predecessor. It is also expected to be lighter than the 2016 version which has a positive effect as far as fuel consumption is concerned.

At the back, the luggage section will be increased which will provide an ideal space for extra cargo. The alloys are set to be made with alloy which adds up to the premium look of the truck.

The interior design is also set to feature a major upgrade. This will give it a more stylish appearance and most of all better comfort for both passenger and driver. All seats plus the steering wheel will be covered with fine leather. Moreover, the steering wheel has been positioned in a way that is friendly to people of various heights for comfort during driving. The control panel will undergo refinement with additional features coming in. A touchscreen 7.8 inches in size is conspicuous in the middle which in itself brings in a variety of features such as; a sound system, Bluetooth, navigation, USB connectivity and Wi-Fi. There also be a climate control system that is programmed.

Mazda has also taken the safety of the driver and passengers very seriously. This is due to the presence of the anti-lock braking system and six airbags to cover for all the passengers.

The 2017 Mazda BT-50 is set to carry out heavy tasks and that has been taken into account when designing its engine and its fuel consumption rate. It is therefore expected to be powered by two diesel engines. The first one is four cylinder 2.2 liter one which will deliver a horsepower of 147 and 277 lb-ft of torque. The second is a five cylinder 3.2 liter one which will in turn deliver horsepower of 197 and 347 lb per feet of torque. The transmission systems are expected to be 2 which are 6 speed automatic and 6 speed manual transmission system.

All these put into perspective will lead to a fuel consumption of 28 mpg that is when on manual transmission. This means when it comes to fuel economy the 2017 model is better than the 2016 one.

There is also provision of an additional engine which is a four cylinder 2.5-liter petrol engine that delivers a horsepower of 166 and equally 166 lb-ft of torque.

The price of this truck is expected to be above $40, 000 but the price details are still sketchy. The release date will be in late 2016 probably around the final quarter.

The 2017 Mazda BT-50 is a great buy with a better performance for carrying loads and any other towing activities. Its release is definitely going to pose serious competition.
