Although Ford is most likely to make modifications to the 2017 Ford Ranger, the concept’s exterior design is turning out to be particularly fascinating, especially with the front grille and headlights having been remodeled in order to give it a more hardy and aggressive appearance. This particular modification is part of a global alignment initiative of the brand for commercial design purposes. In fact, due to the new front face design, it is difficult to view the back of the new 2017 Ford Ranger, though the back does not have as much of a drastic change compared to the front.

The new 2017 Ford Ranger has increased dimensions: they are 5.3 m length, 2.1 m width, 1.8 m height (1.85 m for double occupancy) and 3.2 m wheelbase. The double cabin takes up 1.18 m3 load in the bucket.

The new 2017 Ford Ranger is expected to undergo a comprehensive interior redesign process. The new design will make the car more deluxe, spacious and comfy compared to its predecessor. There will be increased headroom and legroom. The seats are to be made from high quality fabric while the front seats will have built-in screens for the backseat passengers. The new 2017 Ford Ranger will have angular headlamps and fog lights. Midsection creases and flared fenders will make the compact truck look more fresh and tough. For the interior, the dashboard has been lowered therefore creating more room for movement. The instrument panel has been lowered to a new 8’’ touch screen display. You will also get to choose between premium and base upholstery; both options are rugged and durable.

Other expected interior modifications include Bluetooth connectivity, wireless phone charging, modern infotainment system, satellite navigation, improved air conditioning system, climate control system and traffic control features. For easier parking, the new model will be fitted with a rear camera.

The new 2017 Ford Ranger will have three engine options available. The first option is a powerful 3.2 liter 5-cylinder TDCi engine with and 197 Hp. The maximum torque for this engine is 470 Nm. Through the new technologies of recirculation of exhaust gases of this engine, the fuel consumption is reduced by 18 percent. The expected fuel consumption level for this engine is 21mpg for city driving and 30 mpg on the highway. The second option is the new diesel 2.2 liter TDCi Duratorq engine with 158 Hp and 385 Nm of maximum torque. For which you will get increased fuel efficiency by 22 percent. The third is a petrol Duratec 2.5 liter engine fitted with direct fuel injection. This power train will provide 163 Hp and given 225 Nm of maximum torque. All of these engines will have to be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

However there is talk of a hybrid version of the new 2017 Ford Ranger with a 2.3 liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine fitted with direct injection. This engine will be combined with electric motors and starters which will result in excellent fuel consumption, eco-friendly characteristics and great performance. In addition, all variations of the Ford Ranger are available with a start / stop technology. All the four engine variations will be offered with either 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions and will come in both rear and all-wheel drive configurations.

In terms of fuel efficiency the new 2017 Ford Ranger is likely to provide one of the best options in the market compared to its competitors. The new automatic start/stop technology should improve the fuel efficiency figures by 3.5%. Aside from that, the new powertrains are still expected to provide fuel efficiency even on their own.

Ford has not yet confirmed the release date of this prestigious new 2017 Ford Ranger however it is expected to be revealed in early 2017 in the USA. The estimated price (msrp) of this truck in the US market is around $20,000 for the basic version fitted with a gasoline engine, for the XL Plus version that has been fitted with the most potent diesel engine and the maximum trim level, this price elevates to $50,000.
