2017 BMW 5-Series Review, Price

The seventh generation of the BMW 5 series has completed its last phase of development and durability testing. For starters, the 2017 BMW 5-Series will be based on a seven series’ platform and 100kg lighter than the current model. The car will be an evolutionary type rather than revolutionary. Body wise, the premium salon will be similar in size with the current model in the market which measures 4.9 meters length and a width of 1.9 meters.

2017 BMW 5-Series Exterior, Interior

The recently photographed prototypes reveal that the 2017 BMW 5-Series contains updated evolutionary exterior styling. The car adopts a kidney shaped grille with louvers which open when the engine needs to cool off and close to improve the amount of airflow around the front end. The headlights which contain optional lasers for producing high beam lights surround the chrome grille in order to improve the car’s visual width. The flanks have more pronounced shoulder along it with added tumblehome on the glass area in addition to air breather element at the back of the front wheel arches. The new 2017 BMW 5-Series plans to have five styling packages; standard, Sport, M Sport, pure Excellence and individual just the same as the 7 series.

It’s safe to assume that the cabin will most likely follow the footsteps of the latest redesigned 7 series with same design architecture, switch gear, a multi-functional steering wheel and materials. The interior is expected to adopt a new looking dashboard featuring high resolution instruments plus revised door panels. Prominent changes includes a new free standing infotainment monitor system and a new button layout on the central stack in addition to a revised instrument panel. The subtle increase on the external dimensions will be reflected on the inside, with increased seating capacity. The 2017 BMW series has stressed a lot of emphasis on improving the design and comfort of the 5 series having seats cushioned with soft materials. The body shell will be sound proof.
